Case Study – Powering the Official BIGSOUND22 Festival App
As Industry Partner for BIGSOUND 2022, Hot Giggity powered the official BIGSOUND22 Conference & Festival Guide app - maps, venues, schedules, RSVPs and reminders for the first BIGSOUND back after COVID.

BIGSOUND 2022 was a big one. After two years of cancelled gigs, closed borders and quiet venues, the Southern Hemisphere's biggest music industry gathering returned to Fortitude Valley in full force, and Hot Giggity was right in the middle of it.
As an official Industry Partner for BIGSOUND 2022, Hot Giggity powered the official BIGSOUND22 Conference & Festival Guide app, putting every conference session, showcase, venue and food outlet promotion in the pockets of thousands of delegates, artists and punters.

One App for the Whole Festival
The BIGSOUND22 app covered all of the conference and festival events across the four days. Whether you were an industry delegate planning your conference sessions or a music fan chasing showcases across the Valley, the app was the single source of truth for what was on, where and when.
Find Gigs, Venues and Food with the Map and Explore
Fortitude Valley during BIGSOUND is a maze of venues, laneways and pop-ups. The app's map and explore functions made it easy to find your way around: browse upcoming gigs near you, see exactly how far away each venue is, and discover food outlet promotions along the way.

Exploring venues showed you every participating room, from The Zoo to The Brightside, with events and promotions at each one.

Build Your Own Festival Schedule
With hundreds of showcases and conference sessions running across four days, planning mattered. Delegates and fans could build their own personal conference and gig schedule in the My Gigs section, and the app sent event reminders so you never missed a set you had planned to catch.

Everything You Need on the Event Page
Each event page had the full details: date, time, venue, artist and genre. From there you could RSVP as going or interested, get directions, share the event with friends, or even order an Uber to get you there.

Users could also sign up for an account to keep their schedule and RSVPs synced across the festival.
Why It Mattered
BIGSOUND22 was the first festival year out of COVID, and the industry needed it to run smoothly. Powering the official festival app was a proud moment for us: it showed that the same technology that helps artists, agents and venues manage everyday gigs can scale up to run the guide for one of Australia's biggest industry events.
If you are running a festival or major event and want technology that connects your artists, venues, schedules and audiences in one place, book a demo with the Hot Giggity team. We would love to show you what is possible.
