Superannuation for Venues
HG Super Pay automates super compliance without taking over your payment flow. Your money stays in your bank account until you authorise the payment, and super is paid directly to each performer's fund via a licensed clearing house.
Book a DemoWhen your venue books and pays individual performers, you may be responsible for their super. Under Section 12(8) of the SG Act, many performers are treated as employees for super purposes, even if they invoice you with an ABN.
From 1 July 2026, Payday Super generally requires super contributions to reach the performer's fund within seven business days of payment. For venues booking multiple performers each week, this creates a significant operational challenge.
Some platforms have responded by inserting themselves into the payment chain. You pay the platform instead of the artist directly, and the platform distributes everything: the performance fee to the artist and super to the fund. This means you lose visibility of where your money goes, you lose direct financial relationships with your artists, and you become dependent on a third party handling your money.

HG Super Pay was built so venues never have to give up financial control to stay compliant.
You pay your artists directly. Super is paid from your bank account to each performer's fund. No platform sits in the middle of the payment chain.
When you book a sole trader performer, Hot Giggity uses their profile to calculate SG on the booking sheet. No manual calculations, no spreadsheets.
Super is debited from your nominated bank account and paid directly to each performer's fund through SuperChoice's licensed clearing house service. You can see every payment, every fund, every amount.
Hot Giggity uses the performer's profile to identify whether they are set up as a sole trader, company, partnership, or trust. Super is only calculated where it is needed. No guesswork.
| HG Super Pay | Platform-Controlled | |
|---|---|---|
| Who pays the artist? | You (directly) | The platform |
| Who pays super? | You (from your bank account) | The platform |
| Financial visibility | Full transparency | Obscured by platform |
| Super payment record | Shows who made the contribution | May be harder to follow |
| Clearing house | Licensed clearing house | Often undisclosed |
| Artist relationships | Direct (you pay them) | Mediated by platform |

When you book a sole trader artist, the platform detects their entity type and auto-calculates the SG on the booking sheet. The super amount appears on every invoice automatically.
The platform auto-generates the artist's invoice to you with super amounts clearly shown. Invoices can sync to your accounting package automatically.
One-time setup: register in HG Super Pay, nominate your bank account, and sync your sole trader artists. Their super fund details are pulled automatically from their Hot Giggity profiles.
Trigger super payments from the platform each pay cycle. Amounts are debited from your bank account and paid to each artist's super fund via the licensed clearing house. The Super Ledger tracks everything.

$1.50 (ex GST) per artist payment
One payment may cover multiple gigs depending on your pay cycle. For example, if you pay fortnightly and an artist had 4 gigs that fortnight, that is one payment of $1.50.
HG Super Pay is available on all plans:
| Free | $0/month (up to 8 bookings) |
| Essentials | $159/month (or $15/gig) |
| Pro | $199/month (or $19/gig) |

Multi-player acts create the biggest super headache for venues. Under a traditional single-invoice model, you pay one fee to the act owner. The entire SG goes to the act owner's super fund, even though the fee is being split between players.
Hot Giggity solves this. When an act owner enables Act Player Invoices Paid by Venue, the platform generates an individual invoice from each player directly to you. Each player's fee and super are calculated individually, and you pay super directly to each player's fund.
No act owner carries the burden of other players' super obligations. Each eligible player can have super calculated and paid to their own fund, with a clear audit trail showing who engaged and paid them.

There are two ways to pay super on Hot Giggity:
| HG Super Pay | Pay super directly from the platform. Amounts are debited from your bank account and paid to each artist's fund through SuperChoice's licensed clearing house service. $1.50 per payment. |
| Accounting Pay Run | Sync your sole trader artists to your accounting package as employees and run super through your existing pay run workflow. |
Both options are fully supported. Choose whichever works best for your volume and workflow.

When you engage and pay individual or sole trader performers, you may be responsible for SG under Section 12(8) of the SG Act. A key question is who engaged the performer and who pays them. If you book and pay the performer directly, you are typically the party responsible for SG. Hot Giggity's booking flow makes this clear automatically.
No. Your money stays in your bank account until you authorise the payment. You pay artists directly and you pay super directly to their fund via a licensed clearing house. Hot Giggity automates and tracks everything but never holds your money.
You or the act owner can enable Act Player Invoices Paid by Venue, the platform automatically generates an invoice from each player to you. Each player's fee and super are calculated individually. You pay super directly to each player's fund. No act owner carries the burden of other players' super.
If a performer operates through a company, partnership, or trust, the SG obligation does not apply to your payments to that entity. The Section 12(8) performer rule applies to individuals, not payments to companies, partnerships or trusts. Hot Giggity detects each performer's legal entity type and only calculates super where it is needed.
Hot Giggity integrates with Xero. You can sync super payments to a Xero pay run instead of using HG Super Pay. Both options work. The calculation is which is cheaper and more efficient for your volume.
