Superannuation for Booking Agents
Unlike other platforms, HG Super Pay does not take over your payment flow. Your invoicing stays with you, you retain your top-line revenue, and you pay super directly from your own bank account via a licensed clearing house.
Book a DemoAs a booking agent, you sit in the middle of the live entertainment chain. You book artists on behalf of venues, manage invoicing, and handle the financial relationships. Under Section 12(8) of the SG Act, when you engage and pay individual or sole trader performers, you may be responsible for their super.
From 1 July 2026, Payday Super generally requires super contributions to reach the performer's fund within seven business days of payment. For agents managing dozens or hundreds of bookings per week, this creates a significant operational challenge.
Some platforms have responded by inserting themselves into the payment chain. The venue pays the platform, and the platform distributes everything: your commission to you, the performance fee to the artist, and super to the fund. This means you lose your top-line revenue from your books, you lose direct financial relationships with your venues and artists, and you become dependent on a third party handling your money. Your invoicing is no longer yours.

HG Super Pay was built so agents never have to give up financial control to stay compliant.
Hot Giggity auto-generates invoices from you to the venue, and from the artist to you. Your venue relationships and financial records remain intact.
You receive the full venue payment. You pay the artist. You pay the super. Your books show the complete picture, not just a commission line.
Super is debited from your nominated bank account and paid directly to each artist's fund through SuperChoice's licensed clearing house service. No intermediary holds your money.
Where you engage and pay the artist, the records show you as the party making the super contribution. That gives you a cleaner audit trail if questions come up later.
| HG Super Pay | Platform-Controlled | |
|---|---|---|
| Who invoices the venue? | You (the agent) | The platform |
| Who receives venue payment? | You (full amount) | The platform |
| Top-line revenue | Stays in your books | Lost to platform |
| Super payment record | Shows who made the contribution | May be harder to follow |
| Clearing house | Licensed clearing house | Often undisclosed |
| Venue relationships | Direct (your invoices) | Mediated by platform |

When you book a sole trader artist, the platform detects their entity type and auto-calculates the SG on the booking sheet. The super amount appears on every invoice automatically.
The platform generates the invoice from you to the venue (full amount including super) and the invoice from the artist to you. Invoices can sync to Xero automatically.
One-time setup: register in HG Super Pay, nominate your bank account, and sync your sole trader artists. Their super fund details are pulled automatically from their Hot Giggity profiles.
Trigger super payments from the platform each pay cycle. Amounts are debited from your bank account and paid to each artist's super fund via the licensed clearing house. The Super Ledger tracks everything.

$1.50 (ex GST) per artist payment
One payment may cover multiple gigs depending on your pay cycle. For example, if you pay fortnightly and an artist had 4 gigs that fortnight, that is one payment of $1.50.
HG Super Pay is available on all plans:
| Free | $0/month (up to 8 bookings) |
| Essentials | $159/month (or $15/gig) |
| Pro | $199/month (or $19/gig) |
Paid plans include accounting package integrations, automated invoicing, and all platform features.

Multi-player acts create the biggest super headache for agents. Under a traditional single-invoice model, you pay one fee to the act owner. The entire SG goes to the act owner's super fund, even though the fee is being split between players.
Hot Giggity solves this. When an act owner enables Act Player Invoices Paid by Agency/Venue, the platform generates an individual invoice from each player directly to you. Each player's fee and super are calculated individually, and you pay super directly to each player's fund.
No act owner carries the burden of other players' super obligations. Each eligible player can have super calculated and paid to their own fund, with a clear audit trail showing who engaged and paid them.

There are two ways to pay super on Hot Giggity:
Pay super directly from the platform. Amounts are debited from your bank account and paid to each artist's fund through SuperChoice's licensed clearing house service. $1.50 per payment.
Sync your sole trader artists to your accounting package as employees and run super through your existing pay run workflow.
Both options are fully supported. Choose whichever works best for your volume and workflow.
When you engage and pay individual or sole trader performers on behalf of venues, you may be responsible for SG under Section 12(8) of the SG Act. A key question is who engaged the performer and who pays them. If the artist invoices you and you pay them, you are typically the party responsible for SG. If the artist invoices the venue directly and the venue pays, the venue is typically responsible. Hot Giggity's booking flow makes this clear automatically.
No. That is the key difference. With HG Super Pay, the venue pays you directly (as it does now). You pay the artist. You pay the super from your own bank account. Your books show the complete transaction. With platform-controlled models, the venue pays the platform and you only receive your commission.
When the act owner enables Act Player Invoices Paid by Agency/Venue, the platform automatically generates an invoice from each player to you. Each player's fee and super are calculated individually. You pay super directly to each player's fund. No act owner carries the burden of other players' super.
If a performer operates through a company, partnership, or trust, the SG obligation does not apply to your payments to that entity. The Section 12(8) performer rule applies to individuals, not payments to companies, partnerships or trusts. Hot Giggity detects each performer's legal entity type and only calculates super where it is needed.
Hot Giggity integrates with Xero. You can sync super payments to your pay run workflow instead of using HG Super Pay. Both options work. The calculation is which is cheaper and more efficient for your volume.
Yes. HG Super Pay processes super payments through SuperChoice's licensed clearing house service.
